INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING FREE ANTIBODY and/or DNA/RNA PROBE LISTINGS TO THE NEXT EDITION, CD-ROM and WWW SITE OF THE MSRS

Companies and individuals who make or distribute antibodyies/probes may submit as many listings as desired at no charge. The entries will be published in the next edition (or next following supplement).

The method for submitting entries in the correct format is very simple!

Antibody/Probe Entries - will be listed in seperate sections alphabetically.

ESSENTIAL SPECIFICATIONS: ANTIBODIES (11 Fields) ARE:
  1. Antibody Name - Use English common names in order to be listed in the widest category. Additional, names, abbreviations, etc. follow on the same line.
  2. Host Species - Use English common name
  3. Antigen Species - Use English common name
  4. Label - Unconj., FITC, PE, Gold, HRP, Al.Ph., etc.
  5. Form - Wh. Serum, IgG Fr, Ascites, T.C. Supernat., Purified, Aff. Pu., etc. and/or Lyoph., Prediluted, Frozen, etc.
  6. Clone - Alpha/Numeric code without spaces.
  7. Isotype - IgG, IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2aK, etc.
  8. Unit Size - Use standard units; 1mL, 0.2mL, 100µg, 100tests.
  9. Product Number - Alpha/Numeric code without spaces, Clone #, Ab Name, etc.
  10. Company Name - Full company name with an alternative not to exceed 15 characters. Individuals use last name first followed by initials.
  11. Specifications (and/or references) - Describe the antibody's specificity, characteristics, uses, and references utilizing up to 1000 characters (about 100-125 words).

DNA RNA PROBES
  1. DNA/RNA Probe Name
  2. Region
  3. Size
  4. Vector
  5. Enzyme
  6. Label
  7. Unit/Conc
  8. Product Number
  9. Company
  10. Specifications (and/or references)

EXAMPLE OF HOW TO TYPE/SUBMIT ENTRIES ON PAPER (antibody example, 11 Fields):
  1. Antibody Name: Actin, Smooth Muscle
  2. Host Species: Mouse
  3. Antigen Species: Rabbit
  4. Label: XXX
  5. Form: T.C.Supr.
  6. Clone: 1A4
  7. Isotype: IgG2a
  8. Unit Size: 1mL
  9. Product Number: M851
  10. Company Name: Dako
  11. Specifications: Smooth Muscle Actin, 1A4 labels smooth muscle cells in formalin-fixed, paraffin- embedded tissue sections. The antibody can be used for the demonstration of smooth muscle cells in normal tissue and in tumors derived from smooth muscle.


TO SUBMIT ENTRIES ON COMPUTER DISKETTE (10 or more Abs)

Using any common word processing program, type your entries according to the format below. Use the same fields and order as shown on the obverse.

Use a TAB to separate each of the fields and a HARD RETURN to separate each antibody /probe entry. Type XXX in any field where no information is presented. Please be very consistent with field order.

EXAMPLE: Showing antibody field numbers (1), (2), etc. Do Not type field numbers. 0.5 inch tabs are standard.
